As we are in the "days" to go, I find I really don't want to talk or thing about this deployment coming up. It breaks my heart to say goodbye to my husband, my best friend, my daughter's father for 4 months. I know we will all be ok, and our marriage will be even better than it now is when he gets back, but the idea of not seeing him everyday kills me.
As I type, Annabelle is watching her beloved "Signing Time". Russ is in the kitchen making dinner- just one of the many chores he has taken over as I find it hard to conjure up the energy to do anything- let alone cook or clean.
Just seeing him in there- taking care of us- it just one of the thousands of reasons I know I am blessed. God had such a part in our marriage, and continues to do. I look forward to the day he returns from deployment so much. I can't wait to put this dread behind us and look forward to the days together again. I take strength is knowing God has a plan for us, and I have full faith that that plan is for us to grow old together and see our grandchildren play. I am not afraid of Russ going to war, I am really just afraid of lonely nights.
So, let the countdown begin. No more counting down the days until he leaves. Time to start counting down the days until he returns. 130 and counting...

The start of a new journey.
Ok, well... here goes nothing!
While Russ is gone, I've decided to post to him about our days.
Of course, he hasn't deployed... yet :) But I thought I'd post about the days leading up to the deployment as well as through the deployment and of course his coming home to us :)
